An Indian Head Massage Certificate offers many opportunities … one of a number of Richdales’ ITEC courses in London

Indian Head Massage Course in Londonificate The Indian Head Massage Certificate (formerly Diploma) offers you as a student many opportunities to develop your career in the field of Complementary Therapies.

During the course you will learn the skills to build a successful practice in a variety of environments, both in the UK and worldwide. Following the course you can then go on to develop your career further with CPD courses such as Advanced Massage Techniques and Facial Reflexology.

An Indian Head Massage offers a great therapy that can get a client ‘out of their head’ and away from their everyday emotional and mental stress.

As the name implies, an Indian Head Massage is a form of massage therapy originating from India many centuries ago. It is derived from the Ayurvedic tradition and is a style of massage that focuses on the head, shoulders and neck.

During the course you will learn the principles of Ayurvedic medicine, how to assess Doshas and the benefits of Ayurvedic Oils. You will also learn Marma points on the Head and Face as well as performing and adapting Indian Head Massage techniques correctly and safely to meet your client’s individual needs.

By the end of the course you will be able to perform a full Indian Head Massage treatment confidently and be able to identify factors that may influence your treatment objectives as well as provide clear recommendations to your client.

You will also be able to perform the treatment without any oils so that it can be used as a Therapeutic Head, Neck and Shoulder Massage in a corporate environment. As the treatment does not require any special equipment (apart from an ordinary chair) it is the ideal treatment to take into a working office environment as well as a treatment that can be easily performed at exhibitions, fairs etc … where you may be looking to promote your practice.

You can read how one of our current tutors and past student, Nanette Wray, was able to quickly kick start her business, with offering Indian Head Massage therapy.

However, to gain an ITEC Certificate in IHM you do have to hold a recognised qualification in Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology and Business Practice, Health, Safety & Hygiene.

As these modules are integrated in the ITEC Diploma in Massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology courses we strongly recommend that you undertake the Indian Head Massage Course after completing one of these courses. However, should you only wish to practise IHM in a professional capacity it is possible to do so.
