Neck pain is persistent or recurrent condition with chronic or persistent neck pain affecting upto 1 in 5 of the population. Most people do not experience a complete resolution of symptoms with 50 – 80% reporting episodes of neck pain within 1 – 5 years.
The Bone & Joint Decade Task Force on Neck Pain and it’s Associated Disorders have recently published a report redefining neck pain and it’s management. This report is the culmination of 7 years work from more than 50 researchers from 9 countries and 19 different clinical and scientific disciplines. The great majority of patients have been found to have Grade 1 or 2 neck pain. Massage has been confirmed as a “treatment worth considering” for patients suffering Grade 1 or 2 neck pain.

Advanced Reflexology Techniques
Although there will be a brief review of anatomy and physiology this Course is of a highly practical nature the majority of the day will be spent on identifying reflexes and looking at a variety of techniques for effectively locating and working reflexes of the nervous system (particularly the location of the spinal column and spinal nerves) and all the endocrine glands.
Deeper working techniques will be explored in addition to more gentle, balancing ones providing the practitioner with effective treatment tools that can be applied to a variety of different clients.
Hot and Cold Stone Massage
As a Massage Practitioner or bodyworker it is strongly suggested that you utilise techniques to protect your hands and joints otherwise if you are treating more than 10 clients per week you have approximately three years as a practitioner before you can start to notices aches.
Hot and Cold Stone Massage is one way in which you can protect your hands and joints and enhance the quality of the treatment you provide for your client. It is also a therapy that can be used to treat specific problems your clients may present with. With the advent of portable heating bags this therapy is now also ideal for mobile therapists.

To learn safe and effective Thai Massage techniques involving Yoga Movements, Shiatsu Movements, Mobility Movements, Acupressure and Foot Reflexology Techniques that can be utilised as a stand alone treatment or provide additional techniques to your existing Massage routine or Bodywork therapies.
Emergency First Aid at Work – for the Complementary Medicine Practitioner
What would you do if your client suffered a medical emergency during a treatment ?
Employers, clinics and local councils are increasingly requiring Complementary Medicine Practitioners to hold a valid HSE compliant First Aid qualification in order to work at their premises.
Completing the course will give you a recognised first aid qualification which is compliant with HSE First Aid at Work Regulations (1981) allowing you to carry out first aid in the workplace and providing relevant certification and documentation.
Please note that due to the nature of this Course there will be a maximum of 12 students per teacher.
