Course Structure:

Students have been successfully completing (and thoroughly enjoying!) our massage course for over 30 years.  Our students are at the centre of our course structure – our course is continually being updated with the most recent developments in the field and feedback from the people who take the course themselves.

Here is how our student-friendly course structure will benefit you:

  • You can start learning as soon as you enrol. When you pay your course fees in full, you’ll get instant access to tutorial videos that will help you to prepare for your first lesson.
  • The course is run over ten attendance classes. This will give you more time to understand the material and competently perform a professional full body massage.
  • In order for you to go away and start practicing straight away (and you will be eager to do so!), we bring the first two practical attendance classes closer together. This will allow you to learn a bulk of the practical sequence sooner so that you can start perfecting your technique early on in the course. You’ll also be given detailed manuals and videos in the virtual learning environment.
  • We spread out the remaining lessons approximately every 5 weeks. This will give you enough time to develop your practical skills, undertake your home studies at a pace that suits you and be better prepared for your exams.
  • The size of your class will be limited to ensure that you receive individual attention from each of your tutors.
  • Our courses are held at Hammersmith Hospital in West London, the Imperial College of Medicine, also in West London and at our own training centre near Hangar Lane. All our locations have free car parking and are very convenient for tubes and buses.
  • The courses are held on weekends or weekdays to suit your time commitments.

It’s our commitment to our students that gives our massage course that leading edge and has enabled our 100% success rate, something we are very proud of.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Got a few more niggling questions? Below are the things that many of our students ask us.

Remember, we are here to help. If you can’t find the answer to your questions, get in touch with us for a friendly chat or book a face to face appointment. Our Courses Director will be happy to discuss any questions with you.

Will I be able to practise professionally after completing an ITEC Diploma in Massage?

Yes! After completing the massage course, you will be qualified to practise professionally both in the UK and in many other parts of the world.

Am I the right person for the course?

If you have an interest in massage, then the answer is yes! Our students have various backgrounds and goals. Some want to gain a professional massage qualification, either to completely change career or to provide an additional source of income. Others come to us to learn an exciting new skill that will enable them to treat their friends and family.

Whatever your reason for embarking on a massage course, you can rest assured that you will receive the very best training available.

What qualifications do I need to start the course?

None! Our massage course will take you from a beginner all the way through to a professional level. All we ask is that you must be over the age of 18 and have a reasonable level of English (as all the classes are conducted in English).

I haven’t studied for a very long time. Will I be capable of completing this course?

Absolutely! Your age or experience doesn’t matter. As long as you are eager to learn then you will do well! We have had many students who have successfully completed their diploma courses in their late 60’s. It’s never too late to learn a new skill!

How do I know if this is the right course for me?

We are experienced in training a wide variety of students and we understand that you need to be sure the course you choose is the right one for you.  So get in touch with us and we will help you to make the right decision (even if that means advising you that our courses are not the most suited to you!)

If it helps, you can arrange to come and sit-in on a real class in progress. (By the way, this is not an ‘Open Day’ where everything is set up perfectly so that prospective students only get to see the things and students that the training providers want!)

This will be an opportunity to see an actual class in progress. You can get a glimpse of what you can expect as a student and experience 'the Richdales way of learning' first-hand. You will also have the chance to meet the teachers and current students, see our professional course venues and ask any questions you may have.

And just in case you’re wondering (because we would be!)... at no time will you be badgered or pressured into joining our massage course. This is a genuine opportunity for people like you to get a really good insight into what the course entails and what you can expect should you wish to join our course.

What happens if I fail the course?

First of all, it’s highly unlikely that you will fail.  NOT ONE OF OUR STUDENTS HAS FAILED ITEC Theory or Practical Examination in Holistic Massage. And that proven track record goes back over 30 years! You will be very well prepared for your examinations. You can even arrange additional support alongside your lesson plans if necessary.

We are here to help you succeed and we will do everything we can to ensure you pass your course the first time.

What experience and qualifications do your tutors have?

We are proud to offer some of the best tutors in the field. We individually select our teachers based on their expertise and passion for helping students to succeed!

In order to provide the highest level of training, all of our teachers are required to:

  1. Hold an adult teaching qualification (and therefore demonstrate a competency and proficiency in developing strategies and material for delivering teaching and learning approaches more effectively)
  2. Be experienced practitioners and still treating patients (so that you can benefit from the daily clinical experience)
  3. Regularly update their skills (so that you benefit from the latest developments rather than learning outdated theories and models)

What payments do you accept?

It’s entirely up to you. You can pay by cash or bank transfer.  To make things even easier for you, we also accept debit or credit card payments without any additional charges.

Can I spread the cost of the payments?

Yes.  You can pay for your training in regular instalments.

However, you will benefit from a significant discount if you pay in full and, by paying in full, you will have immediate access to our Virtual Learning Environment and you can start learning today.

I’m ready! When can I start my course?

We have weekend and weekday courses commencing regularly throughout the Academic year (every September, November, January, February and April and June). Take a look at our course dates and choose the course that is most convenient for you.

Remember, we are here to help. If you can’t find the answer to your questions, get in touch with us for a friendly chat. Our Courses Director will be happy to discuss any questions with you.
